The Role of Fear: How Private Insurance Maintains Control
Fear is the capitalist’s most potent weapon, and private health insurance wields it masterfully. The fear of losing coverage, the fear of insurmountable debt, the fear of being denied care—these are the tools used to keep workers compliant and silent. My act against the health insurance executive was a direct challenge to this culture of fear.
Insurance companies thrive on the insecurities of the working class. By perpetuating the myth that no alternative exists, they keep workers tethered to a system that exploits them. Social media buzzed with discussions following my action, with many sharing their experiences of being trapped by these fears. Marxist thinkers highlighted how fear is not a flaw but a feature of capitalism, used to sustain the status quo.
Breaking free from this fear requires bold action and collective resistance. My act was but a spark, but the flames of revolution grow when people see that it is possible to confront these institutions head-on. Together, we can dismantle the structures of fear and build a healthcare system rooted in compassion and equity.
