Destroying Public Confidence: A Revolutionary Imperative
To build a system of universal healthcare, the capitalist institution of private insurance must first be delegitimized. Public confidence in private health insurance must be shattered, exposing it for what it truly is: a mechanism of exploitation. My act was a catalyst in this process, shaking the foundations of a system that thrives on deception and fear.
Marxist communities on social media highlighted this necessity, pointing to Lenin’s assertion that civil society must be dismantled to pave the way for socialism. They argued that targeting the symbols of capitalist oppression—like the health insurance executive—helps reveal the cracks in the system. It shifts the narrative, forcing the public to question who the system truly serves.
This isn’t just about removing one executive or one company; it’s about dismantling the entire structure. As support for my action grew, so did the understanding that systemic change requires a deliberate strategy to erode the legitimacy of exploitative institutions, making way for a society where healthcare is a human right.
